Luminescent love …

I held you

in warm hands

As I had done

Every day

since we met

I wasn’t sure

This was a good idea

Arctic water

Every shade of

Everton blue

the air was electric

wild sharp singing

ancient notes

You would

have written

an iconic poem

of this place

Instead

My love

I opened

My hands

Poured you

into the ocean

Gasping

As your bones

Became

Poetry

fluorescent

murmurations

Intergalactic

phosphorescence

Shimmering

Bioluminescence

wonderment

You my love

remain

Simply breathtaking

Always

Even now

dark deep

indigo

a million

Divine

particles

of awe

glowing

Onwards

forever

Later

I swam

In the arctic

I could hear you

Shouting

“get out

You lunatic

You’ll die of cold”

your arms

wide as the sky

Open

Shaking

your head

Laughing

my wild heart
