Dawn
by Sandra Richardson

Dawn stands earth to attention

a place of knowing horizons

are the illusion of limitation

I met her there

illuminating possibly

slow formed scene

pure, like child, this morning

invitation

just here

just now

This is the place for laying to ground self illusive barriers

to know me

past my self protection

is the only way

the only way

my sword is heavy

iron

bigger than my body

it is age old myth

legendary, legend

my icon, symbol, breath

in the war of self hurting

battle weary

the weight has broken me

I was broken

the night before

this dawn stands

I must hold

the gentle love of self

tender as tear drops

reach into feelings

yet discovered

learn the path of honour

is lost

without the truth of self

care, take gentle care

careful healing

gentle breathing

joyous being

deserving love

without reason

this day brings a different kind of freedom

my vulnerability

my pain

call for the brave

call for the strong

call for the moment

that is this dawn
